Getting started

A short guide to your first weeks with MailSequoia: what you need, what we do, what you do, and where to turn if something is unclear.

What you need

  • Inboxes on Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, the ones your campaigns send from.
  • An invitation. MailSequoia is invite only, and places are limited.
  • A few emails written in your own voice.

1. Request an invite

Request an invite with a few details: how you use cold email, how many inboxes you run, and where they live. Every request is read by our team, and you join the waitlist.

2. Connect your inboxes

When a place opens, we write to you with your invitation. From your dashboard you connect your inboxes, one at a time or a whole list at once.

It takes a few minutes. If someone else on your team looks after your inboxes, they can do this part for you.

Each inbox shows up in your dashboard as soon as it is connected, and starts gently from day one.

3. Add your copy

Give us a few short emails that sound like you: the tone, the length and the kind of thing you write. We review each one before it goes to work in the warm-up.

No sales pitch needed. Ordinary, friendly email is exactly right.

4. Let them grow

New inboxes start gently and build up over the first weeks. Give them that time before you put heavy campaigns on them.

Inboxes that already send can keep sending. The warm-up runs beside your campaigns either way.

5. Read your placement

Every inbox gets a placement read, day by day: did its email land in the inbox, or in spam? It is in your dashboard, and through the API if you want it in your own tools.

Common questions

Do I have to change my sending tool?

No. Keep your sending tool, your lists and your sequences. MailSequoia only grows the reputation underneath them.

Will the warm-up ever write to my prospects?

No. Warm-up email only goes to the MailSequoia warm-up pool, never to your lists.

Which inboxes can I connect?

Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. If yours live somewhere else, say so when you request an invite.

How long until an inbox is ready?

Weeks, not hours. A good name is built a day at a time, and anyone who promises a shortcut is selling noise. Your placement shows you when an inbox is holding steady.

Can I see how the warm-up works underneath?

No. The method is private. You see what it does: placement, every day, for every inbox.

What am I allowed to send from a warmed inbox?

Truthful email that follows the law: say who you are, mean what your subject line says, and stop when someone asks you to. The acceptable use policy is short, and worth two minutes before you request an invite.
